Admissions Director (Administrative)



Admissions Director responsible for managing the admissions process in a healthcare facility. This role focuses on ensuring a positive experience for residents, families, and staff, while also achieving resident census goals and maintaining confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

  • Admissions Process Management: Oversee and streamline the entire admissions process, from initial inquiry to intake and bed assignments. This includes screening applicants, verifying insurance coverage, coordinating necessary services (such as physical, social, emotional, and support services), and completing all required paperwork efficiently and accurately.
  • Relationship Management and Marketing: Develop and nurture relationships with physicians, social workers, discharge planners, and other referral sources to maximize admissions. This also includes maintaining relationships with community contacts, such as legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, assisted living and senior housing facilities, appropriate special interest groups, and churches. Additionally, this role may involve participating in outreach events and educating referral sources about the facility's services.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership: Coordinate with departments such as nursing, case management, and sales and marketing to ensure timely communication and a smooth admissions experience. As a supervisory role, this position also entails the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Sales and Marketing department, as well as attending daily meetings and fostering a positive environment.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensure adherence to facility policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations, including those related to confidentiality of resident care information, such as protected health information. This also involves ensuring familiarity with standard precautions, exposure control plans, fire drills, and evacuation procedures.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years' admissions experience is preferred. An LVN or RN license is also preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Communication Skills: Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret various business documents, write reports and correspondence, and effectively present information.
    • Mathematical and Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations and solve problems effectively.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products.

Physical demands and work environment

This role may require occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. It involves prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer, and regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, reading, or hearing. Frequent use of office equipment such as a copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator is also required. The employee may be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. The work environment typically has a low to moderate noise level. Apply
