LOGS Legal Group LLP has an exciting new opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join the team in our Colorado Springs, CO office location.

  • Pay Range: $60,000-$65,000 (annualized)
  • Scheduled Hours: 8:30- 5:00 PM MST

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Purpose of the Role

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and related documentation. This role supports the formulation and execution of internal controls and policies within the Finance and Accounting functions, ensuring compliance and consistency across the organization. Key responsibilities include performing account reconciliations (balance sheet, revenue, expense, and payroll) and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

As a member of the Finance department, the Staff Accountant delivers high-quality financial work products and provides meaningful insights to support decision-making. By applying accounting expertise and developing a strong understanding of the business, this role strengthens internal controls, enhances reporting accuracy, and supports the organization's financial health.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record standard journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure internal controls and documentation are maintained in compliance with company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Assist with month-end close, including research, adjustments, accruals, and preparation of management reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and footnotes.
  • Prepare audit work papers, respond to audit requests, and support external auditors as needed.
  • Provide backup and support for other areas within Finance and Accounting.
  • Support GAAP compliance and reporting processes.
  • Generate accurate, timely financial statements for distribution to leadership.
  • Submit dashboard reports for upload into PowerBI and prepare trend and variance analysis reports.
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy and trends.
  • Maintain equity roll-forward schedules and debt roll-forward analyses.
  • Assist in preparing personal property tax filings and other required government reports.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and expand accounting knowledge.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on accuracy.
  • Skilled in working with financial and numeric data.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support multiple areas as needed.

Training & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Acumatica ERP (preferred but not required)
