Job Description Summary:

Supports the Food Safety and Quality Control programs, processes and procedures to ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements.  Provides support to operations in addressing food safety and quality issues as necessary.

 

Schedule: Non-pack Season: Monday-Thursday 6am-4pm | During season: Aug thru October Monday – Friday 6am start.

 Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Food safety and Quality systems are maintained and are in compliance with regulations and customer requirements, including formula management, quality checks, product release sanitation, pest control.

  • Maintain formula systems. Approve and sign the daily formulas. Calculate new formulas and supervise production of test kettles.

  • Leads Food Safety Programs. Recommend improvements and work with the manufacturing departments on improvements.

  • Writes appropriate SOPs and Work Instructions

  • Ensure suppliers meet specifications. Communicates with vendors on quality related issues.

  • ·Audits processing records to comply with Food Safety and Quality standards.

  • ·Leads regulatory, customer, third party and internal audits. Provides timely corrective actions.

  • Be a member of HACCP, Food Safety, and Food Defense teams.

  • Support the development of technical skills of the Quality Assurance staff to ensure they have the required competencies to carry out those functions affecting product legality and safety.

  • Assist in complaint investigation and corrective action.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Quality Management in the food industry

  • BS Food Technology, Food Science, or Biology (preferred)

  • HACCP and PCQI Certified

  • SQF Practitioner

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work within a team and coach employees

  • Experience in manufacturing environment (required)

  • Problem solver

  • Exceptional follow-up and time management skills

 

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $74,000-$79,000 Annually (Salaried Exempt) + Bonus Eligible
