Staff Scheduler and Central Supply (Healthcare)



Wage DOE: $23-$25/hour

Description

This is a full-time position that will encompass both the scheduling and central supply roles:

As the staffing coordinator at Colonial Vista Post Acute, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our facility operates smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate, allocate, and manage staff schedules in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes patient care and service excellence. You will work closely with department heads and wellness professionals to understand their staffing needs, taking into account peak times, employee availability, and special requests. Your organizational skills will be integral to creating schedules that ensure coverage for all shifts while adhering to labor laws and organizational policies. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining communication with staff regarding their schedules, addressing any conflicts, and making adjustments as necessary. This role requires a detail-oriented mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. By effectively allocating our skilled workforce, you will help enhance the experience of our residents and contribute to our mission of promoting quality care. Responsibilities

  • Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules for the nursing department.
  • Communicate schedule changes and updates to all staff members in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with management to assess staffing needs and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies concerning staffing and scheduling.
  • Utilize scheduling software to optimize staff coverage and reduce scheduling conflicts.
  • Address staff requests for shift changes, time off, or vacation and process them accordingly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in scheduling or personnel management, preferably in a health-related field.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple schedules and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with both staff and management.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations with professionalism
  • Discretion and confidentiality are crucial.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations governing staff scheduling in health and wellness.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills to address scheduling conflicts efficiently.

This position demands a detail-oriented individual who is adept at managing inventory levels, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. As a member of the central supply team, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless operation of our facility, supporting staff in providing optimal care and service to our clients. You will handle a wide range of tasks from inventory management to order fulfillment, contributing to the overall operational excellence of the organization. Your organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and vendors will be crucial to your success in this position. Furthermore, your role will involve implementing inventory control processes that promote efficiency and cost-effectiveness, enhancing our responsiveness to the needs of both staff and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor inventory levels of medical and office supplies.
  • Coordinate with various departments to assess their supply needs and provide necessary items.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Process orders from departments and maintain timely fulfillment of requests.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of supplies according to safety standards.
  • Track expiration dates on supplies and coordinate disposal of expired items.
