The role of the Mechanical Engineer III is responsible for review of the product specifications of a project, as well as creating the design for, and management of complex projects. The Engineer produces rendered models and detailed drawings for fabrication. Estimating, quoting, design (structural, mechanical, and electrical), customer communication and project management are essential in this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead design efforts by reviewing project specifications and creating models and fabrication-ready drawings.
  • Partner with customers to understand needs, prepare accurate estimates, and deliver professional proposals.
  • Serve as project manager for multiple projects concurrently, managing all aspects of assigned projects (procurement, schedule, and profitability) and ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Lead customer and vendor coordination, and creation and management of project documents including schedules and budget.
  • Create product submittals, approvals, and operations manuals that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinate installations with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Travel to job sites as needed for technical support, project oversight, and relationship building.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Leverage ERP systems (Epicor or similar) to manage materials, schedules, and project data.

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical and structural engineering background with a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles .
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling and drawing in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to interpret and apply design codes and industry standards including CMAA, ASME, NEC, and AISC.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical details for customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and related software.
  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project; proficiency preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering (mechanical/structural/electrical) experience (10+ years preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience strongly preferred.
  • PE certification preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., on-site at Broomfield manufacturing facility
  • Compensation: $93,000-115,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education, and could pay more or less than the posted range.
