Position Purpose

The Donations Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent customer service while coordinating donation requests within the communities we serve. This role organizes and schedules the pick-up of donated goods, enters pickup information into the system, provides schedules to donors, drivers, crew members, and store managers, and ensures items are picked up and delivered in a timely, efficient manner.


Essential Functions

  • Answer incoming calls and donor communications while providing outstanding customer service.

  • Call, email, and/or text all donors scheduled for next-day pickups with estimated arrival windows.

  • Efficiently route donation trucks for daily pickups.

  • Perform general data entry and recordkeeping for donations hotline and DOT compliance.

  • Act as a backup for the Logistics Manager and assist with managing staff daily.

  • Properly track and manage data for the Deconstruction department.

  • Use computer applications to identify truck locations as needed.

  • Reconcile department fuel charges monthly.

  • Manage ReStore transfer pickups.

  • Assist with truck audits and maintain truck maintenance logs.

  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with drivers, staff, and leadership.

  • Be an effective team member, engaging and motivating staff and volunteers.

  • Represent Habitat Charlotte Region in a positive, professional manner.

  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and adherence to schedule.

  • Provide dependable transportation to and from work.

  • Uphold Habitat's Code of Conduct and related policies.

  • Complete other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).

  • Strong customer service experience, including phone and computer operations.

  • Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with some coordination across warehouse/logistics operations.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to operate phone and computer.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.


Schedule

  • 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, with occasional flexibility based on operational needs).
