POSITION SUMMARY The Staff Accountant has a vital role in our accounting/finance department. Under the direction of the organization's Plant Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for general ledger accounting and aiding in financial reporting & analysis. Create and/or maintain reports from the organization's financial systems, as requested by Management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The statements on this job description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by incumbents. Maintain Company's expense reimbursement processing through organization's third-party administrator. Prepare reimbursement payments and accrue corresponding expenses by applying general ledger accounts when needed. Support management with a fast past month end close process and strict deadlines. Complete assigned monthly & quarterly journal entries and verify support schedules to general ledger accounts as assigned through the Company's financial close process. Complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any reconciling variances. Complete and assist in quarterly internal audit testing to remain compliant with Corporate requirements. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Review and book entries associated with revenue recognition standards. Monitor the amortization of prepaid accounts and ensure timely recognition in the financial statements. Provide support for sales, personal property, and B&O tax preparation and compliance requirements, as needed. Monitor customer returns and calculate stock rotation estimates. Support Accounts Payable with annual 1099 filings. Monitor and report unclaimed property when necessary Assist team with inventory valuation and physical counts when prompted Responsible for Vendor and Customer verification processes. Provide management with concise, timely reports that provide pertinent information necessary to make informed decisions. Perform accounting research and analysis as assigned. Update/improve the Company's financial processes, creating efficiencies and leveraging technology. Protects organization's value by keeping confidential information Help ensure accounting compliance with internal controls and GAAP Cross trains and supports the department with additional Finance functions and job responsibilities. Supports the following areas: internal controls, financial planning and budgeting, financial statement analysis and ERP system upgrades. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Proficient in Excel A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, and/or relevant experience, preferred. 2+ years of professional accounting experience Accounting experience within a public and/or multi-layered company preferred Experience with Epicor, Ceridian Dayforce, Concur, and/or Office 365, desired. Office 365 applications, SharePoint, and online solutions are the primary tools across the organization. Experience with Epicor, Ceridian Dayforce, Concur. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to lift 25 pounds and move 50 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, use a computer, and talk on the phone for prolonged periods of time. WORK ENVIRONMENT An employee in this position will spend time in an open office environment, interfacing through multiple mediums. The ability to work remotely and in the office is desired. Able to work independently and in a team environment as needed. COMPENSATION Pay Range: $56,160-$70,720/year (annualized for all non-MFG positions, even if hourly) Status: Non-Exempt Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
