We are seeking a skilled Logistics Manager with experience in international trade (commodity trading setting) to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary: The Logistics Manager oversees the end-to-end physical movement of commodities from origin to destination across global markets. This role is responsible for creating best-in-class management practices of our Logistics Coordinators with the timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods, managing strategic partnerships, logistics contracts, multimodal transport solutions, and risk mitigation in alignment with trading goals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Logistics Leadership

Develop and lead our global logistics strategy aligned with trading operations and market dynamics.
Optimize supply chain routes and modal strategies (sea, road, inland) to maximize profit margins and reduce lead times.
Identify and implement digital solutions and process automation to improve logistics visibility and efficiency.

2. Execution & Coordination

Manage our team's physical execution of commodity shipments (FOB, CIF, DDP, etc.), including freight forwarding, customs, and warehousing.
Collaborate with traders and finance teams to ensure logistics planning supports commercial decisions.
Oversee the documentation and compliance process including bills of lading, letters of credit, insurance, and export/import permits.

3. Vendor & Partner Management

Build strong relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, surveyors, warehouses, and customs brokers.
Negotiate freight contracts and service-level agreements with logistics providers.
Monitor vendor performance through KPIs and audits.

4. Risk, Compliance & Cost Control

Identify logistical risks (delays, cost overruns, geopolitical disruption) and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including sanctions, export controls, tariffs, and food safety standards.
Track logistics KPIs and manage the logistics budget.

5. Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing logistics and operations team across multiple regions.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Establish annual goals and supervise/monitor team performance through internal KPIs and SOPs.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field.
5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a commodity trading environment.
Deep understanding of international shipping terms (Incoterms), containerized freight, and documentation.
Experience with ERP/trading platforms and logistics tracking tools (e.g., SAP, Veson IMOS, ITAS, CTRM, or similar).
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and risk management capability.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a global mindset.


Preferred Commodities Experience

Grains, Sugar, Soft Ags, Pulses, Nuts, Dried Fruit
Multilingual abilities (Spanish, Portuguese, other)
General knowledge of food safety protocols (GFSI, BRC, FSSC-22000, SQF, etc.)
