Senior Advanced AI Engineer (Finance)



Honeywell Aerospace Technologies (AT) is seeking a Senior Advanced AI Engineer candidates to build hardware and embedded systems development for future AI based products as part of a new AI/Machine Learning Center of Excellence (COE). This specific role will be focused on HW-SW Co-Design and development of computer vision, artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomy technologies for autonomous aerial vehicle platforms. Your contributions will play a central role in the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions, contributing to Honeywell's commitment to innovation and cutting-edge technology.

In this role you will act as a bridge between the AI research teams and existing Aerospace product teams, integrating and deploying new AI models onto hardware platforms as enhancements to Honeywell's existing products with exciting new AI features as well as introduce new products and capabilities.

You'll work out of our Plymouth, MN location on a hybrid work schedule. Your contributions will play a central role in the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions, contributing to Honeywell's commitment to innovation and cutting-edge technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performance benchmarking of key AI algorithms across a range of compute engines including CPU, GPU and NPU.
  • Profile AI solutions and map the code to different AI accelerators.
  • Lead and drive engineering productization programs.

The annual base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $194,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.   • Bachelors, Master's Degree or PhD from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in applying AI and computer vision technologies to relevant hardware platforms.
  • 3+ years working experience on embedded AI platforms such as the Nvidia Jetson single board computers
  • Hands on experience with deploying AI/ML models for edge inference and familiarity with frameworks like OpenVINO, TensorRT, ONNX, TFLite.
  • Proficiency in AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras and PyTorch.

WE VALUE
  • Experience working in aerospace or safety critical systems (ex: medical device, autonomous car) industry
  • Prior work on software and hardware for safety critical systems (ex: FAA Design Assurance Levels)
  • Knowledge of various AI accelerators and their power/performance trade-off.
  • Experience with different sensors for autonomous systems such as: Cameras (elecro-optical, infrared), IMU, GPS, LIDAR.
  • Team player who can also be independent.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of complex AI solutions to address specific business needs, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and robustness
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into existing systems and processes
  • Work directly with product managers and business leaders to understand requirements and align AI initiatives with overall business objectives
  • Lead the endtoend AI development lifecycle, including project planning, resource allocation, and monitoring progress
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to AI engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence
