Senior Process Engineer (NA/ONPT) - Cigna Healthcare (Finance)



WORK LOCATION: HYBRID / REMOTE

The National Ancillary and Out of Network Protection Team (NA/ONPT) plays a significant role in Cigna's Enterprise Affordability strategy. Our team manages over 400 national contracts across US Commercial and US Government lines of business and roughly $9B in annual medical spend across National Ancillary, Direct Provider and Non-Par Cost Containment partnerships.

The Program Management Senior Advisor is a key role in driving implementations, process improvements and controls in Cigna's overall National Ancillary and Out of Network Protection programs, which directly address customer and client demands for lower cost and higher quality of care. This role will report to the Program Management Director focusing primarily on stabilizing and Improving delegated UM for the Health plan with our vendor partners.

This role has visibility to and regular interactions with our Senior Leadership team and other key internal and external stakeholders. Work can range in content including (but not limited to) scope and assess analysis, organizational realignment, medical cost initiatives, program implementations, performance management, or process improvement.

Job Components and Deliverables

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:

  • Leadership - Balance multiple large, complex, time limited projects between Cigna and external partners
  • Establishing Goals - Engage across matrix partners to set clear, measurable goals approved by sponsors
  • Hold People Accountable - Develop and manage disciplined work plans and engagement to hold team and matrix partners accountable for delivery

DRIVING SOLUTIONS:

  • Facilitation - lead idea sessions around problem resolution to address business needs
  • Requirements Definition - lead requirement sessions to produce clear business and technical needs for solution delivery
  • Prioritization - evaluate business-specific requirements
  • Process Modeling - current state, future state and drive improvements within said processes

RISK MANAGEMENT:

  • Risk Identification - Clearly quantify / qualify risks and engage with impact partners to prioritize related to cost, timing and features
  • Mitigation - Eliminate barriers to success or develop alternate solutions
  • Communication - Early/Frequent communication with leadership and key partners of risk levels and progress

COMMUNICATION:

  • Sponsorship / Senior Level - Concise, effective communication around progress, risks, timing and decisions needed at the senior level
  • Team - Detailed plans and activities to identify timing and ownership.
  • Organizational - Clear, effective communication to matrix partners on timing / impact of implementations on their departments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of Process Engineering and Project Management experience, required
  • Background in driving through decision process and using decision tools (Six Sigma, CTQS, Performance Based Programs) Green or Black belt required .
  • Change Management trained (Prosci - ADKAR® preferred)
  • Agile / Traditional requirements development / delivery methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience and mastery in skills listed above
  • Working knowledge of Cigna operations, markets and contracts
  • Up to 15% of travel expected for role, as needed
