Process Engineer (Engineering)

Genesis Products is seeking a highly mechanical and solutions-focused Process Engineer to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for analyzing and improving manufacturing processes, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. The ideal candidate is both analytical and hands-on — equally comfortable conducting process analysis as they are tearing down, repairing, and rebuilding equipment on the production floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Process & Equipment Optimization

  • Develop, refine, and standardize manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, including hydraulics, robotics, CNCs, and Waterjet systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process and equipment-related problems.
  • Partner with operators and technicians to improve workflows, material handling, and equipment utilization.

Hands-On Technical Problem-Solving

  • Perform equipment tear-down, repair, and rebuild activities when needed.
  • Support welding and metal fabrication projects to improve tooling, fixtures, and process flow.
  • Apply technical expertise in robotics, CNC, and hydraulic systems to support production needs.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to align equipment and process improvements with quality standards.
  • Implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase throughput.
  • Provide training and guidance to production teams on process improvements, safe equipment use, and best practices.

Documentation & Standards

  • Maintain accurate process documentation, standard work instructions, and training resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering OR completion of a technical program/certification in robotics, CNC, hydraulics, or related field.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to tear down, diagnose, and rebuild equipment.

  • Welding and metal fabrication experience strongly preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role (internship or technical school co-op considered).

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools is a plus.

  • Skilled in CAD and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with process analysis tools preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Hands-on and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
