CJRP Staff Assistant (Finance)



Salary: $18.60/hr

This is a temporary, part-time position, working 20 hours a week.

Position Summary: A Staff Assistant provides general office, document preparation and administrative support for a department, office, or defined staff group at USF. Staff Assistants perform a wide range of support duties including preparation of correspondence and reports, filing, preparation and initiation of purchasing related transactions, leave, timekeeping and payroll transactions, fulfilling employment and appointment administration requirements, making travel arrangements, and maintaining calendars, schedules, and departmental databasesMinimum Qualifications: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with two or more years of experience in an office or administrative support position. College or other relevant post-secondary coursework may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis. Testing may be required to assess competency on word processing software.

Preferred Qualifications: S ome college/college graduate with administrative, accounting, research, IRB and grant management, publication, marketing, and event planning in a higher education environment. Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office 360 to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Working at USF

  • Manage center administrative activities
    • Handle correspondence between center and university/administrative units
    • Submit IT and other service requests (e.g., key swipe for all volunteers, maintenance, etc.) for center office and PCD labs
    • Draft annual progress reports for the center and respond to requests for information from CAS Center and Institutes and other university entities
    • Coordinate meetings with center leadership team and affiliates
    • Help with expansion of center (e.g., clinical arm)
    • Assist with drafting business and conceptual plans
    • Assist with setting up and managing auxiliary account and/or billing
  • Enhance marketing and visibility
    • Assist in updating center website
    • Develop new strategies to increase visibility
    • Consistently promote work of the center through social media and other outlets
    • Maintain reports documenting center accomplishments and milestones
  • Coordinate center events and trainings
    • Submit marketing requests with USF communication office for flyers and other promotional materials
    • Promote and disseminate the events
    • Contact vendors
    • Submit contracts to purchasing and coordinate with purchasing staff for ticket purchases, budgets, and other expenses
  • Research support
    • Assist on center research projects as needed, including supervising research assistants or coordinating activities
    • Assist with data management and analyses
    • Assist with IRB project management, as needed
    • Opportunities for publications and/or presentations
