IT Project Portfolio Senior Director (Finance)

Want to oversee the performance management and strategic alignment of the enterprise's IT project portfolio for a Fortune 200 Company with some of the most iconic brands? If you are experienced in IT project management, performance management, and enterprise architecture leadership, we would love to talk to you! We are currently looking for an IT Project Portfolio Sr. Director to join our Enterprise Technology group in Richmond, VA. We prefer the position to be located in Richmond, VA but are open to a remote work arrangement but frequent travel to Richmond is required. The successful candidate will drive the efficient execution of projects, ensuring they deliver maximum value to the organization.
What you will be doing:
  • Leadership of Performance Management: Designing and implementing performance management strategies to ensure the effective delivery of IT projects, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the performance of the IT project portfolio, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Establishing key performance indicators and benchmarks to measure project success and drive continuous improvement. Encouraging a culture of accountability and excellence within the PPM team.
  • Project Portfolio Management: Leading the development and maintenance of the IT project portfolio, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management. Ensuring the successful execution of projects within the portfolio, meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements. Implementing optimal approaches and methodologies for project portfolio management, using industry standards and emerging trends. Providing regular updates to the CIO and other senior leaders on the status of the IT project portfolio.
  • Developing Portfolio & technical architecture strategy to support technology alignment with company's business strategy
  • Maintaining Project Portfolio and driving project execution
  • Building and overseeing the usage of key technology partners driving a value approach to utilization across portfolio delivery
  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the PPM organization, including direct and indirect reports. Handling hiring, training, staff development, and performance management
  • Partner with Digital & Technology functions to ensure Project Portfolio, architectural standards and solutions align with Altria's technology strategy
What you will be doing:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field
  • 15+ years of experience in the information technology field and 10+ years of leadership in a technology operation or architecture role
  • Proven experience with current IT technologies
  • Confirmed executive level engagement at the ELT level.
  • Experience in architectural standards in a hybrid cloud-based technology platform
  • Experience in the usage of API standards
  • Familiarity with international regulations for technology usage
  • Demonstrated Portfolio experience, preferably PPM certified

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $169,600.00 - $296,800.00.We deliver a market-competitive, equitable pay with a Total Reward program that includes:
