Senior Preconstruction Manager

Are you a seasoned construction professional with a talent for shaping projects from concept to groundbreaking? Do you excel at collaborating with stakeholders, design, and project teams to develop accurate budgets, schedules, and strategies? As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding projects through the preconstruction phase—ensuring every detail is aligned, risks are mitigated, and the path to construction is set for success.

What You'll Do:
 

  • Prepare and review cost estimates for new construction and rehabilitation projects.
  • Manage and oversee the preconstruction process from concept through bidding.
  • Develop and maintain construction cost and schedule databases for accurate project planning.
  • Prepare conceptual cost models, budgets, and feasibility studies.
  • Create project construction schedules and associated general conditions budgets.
  • Conduct value engineering assessments and recommend cost-saving alternatives.
  • Perform constructability reviews during project design stages.
  • Develop scope packages and bid documentation.
  • Lead estimating and bidding activities, including take-offs, bid management, and bid evaluations.
  • Facilitate the bid evaluation process, including tabulations, scope verification, and trade comparisons.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
  • Coordinate industry outreach to maximize bid coverage in all trades.
  • Collaborate with construction, development, and management teams to improve processes.
  • Mentor members of the Preconstruction team.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology, software, and best practices to improve project execution.

What Makes You a Great Fit:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, design, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of direct experience in design or construction management.

  • You have experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and other construction and project management software and tools.

  • You have direct experience with preconstruction on large-scale multifamily and commercial projects.

  • You're organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multiple priorities.

  • You're an effective communicator who thrives in collaborative environments.

  • You're proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing solutions.
