Real Estate Paralegal (Legal)



GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
The Real Estate Paralegal supports the legal and real estate teams in handling a wide range of legal and administrative matters related to real estate transactions. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing real estate documents, managing closing processes, conducting title and survey reviews, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with knowledge of real estate law and transaction procedures.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Prepare, review, and track real estate documents including purchase agreements, leases, amendments, easements, and closing documents
2. Assist in managing and coordinating the closing process for acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing transactions
3. Order and review title reports, surveys, zoning reports, and other due diligence materials
4. Coordinate resolution of title and survey issues with outside counsel, title companies, and surveyors
5. Maintain organized files and document management systems related to all real estate transactions
6. Track key real estate deadlines, such as lease expirations, option periods, and due diligence milestones
7. Assist with real estate-related litigation, escrow disbursements, and regulatory filings as needed
8. Support compliance with local, state, and federal real estate laws and licensing requirements
9. Liaise with property managers, brokers, lenders, tenants, and governmental agencies
10. Perform legal research relevant to real estate issues and provide summaries to counsel
11. Other duties and special projects as assigned by the General Counsel or Senior Legal Staff
12. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the President of Stock Five and CEO
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Strong understanding of real estate law, transactions, title, and escrow procedures
2. Experience reviewing and interpreting title commitments, surveys, and closing documents
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and real estate document management platforms (e.g., NetDocuments, ProLaw, or similar)
4. Excellent organizational and project management skills
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
7. Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Associate or bachelors degree required
2. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
3. Minimum 3 years of experience in a real estate legal environment (law firm or in-house legal department)
4. Familiarity with commercial real estate transactions is strongly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
2. Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to operate office equipment
3. Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
4. Subject to walking, standing, bending, and reaching in the course of daily duties
