You'll partner closely with IT infrastructure, application development, and business operations teams to ensure availability, performance, and security of our ERP systems. This role is central to enabling stable and secure business operations and will support both routine tasks and strategic initiatives such as upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption.

In your first year, success looks like: proactively maintaining highly available systems, leading patching and upgrade efforts with minimal downtime, driving process improvements, and supporting your team with expert-level troubleshooting and mentoring. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and support mission-critical systems at a growing, tech-forward organization.

Location

This position is remote and may require occasional on-call or weekend support as part of a rotational schedule.

What you bring to the table

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Administer, support, and maintain Oracle ERP R12 environments, Oracle Databases (19c+), and middleware components such as WebLogic and Tomcat across on-prem and cloud platforms (including OCI and Exadata).
  • Manage system administration functions such as user/role setup, concurrent managers, workflow services, and notification mailer.
  • Plan and execute patching, upgrades, code migrations, and disaster recovery activities with a focus on security and compliance (SOX, audit).
  • Configure and maintain technologies such as RAC, PCP, RMAN, DataGuard, and perform backup/recovery and performance tuning.
  • Support daily DBA activities including installation, cloning, capacity planning, system monitoring, SR management, and documentation.
  • Act as a liaison and consultant to internal teams for database design, high availability, replication, and system architecture.
  • Lead or contribute to knowledge-sharing, documentation, and team development initiatives.
  • Provide 24/7 support on a rotational basis, including shift and weekend work as needed.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira/Smartsheet/SharePoint or similar project management tools to plan, track, and follow through on tasks/projects.
  • Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, capable of updating and maintaining sprint and quarterly release plans accordingly.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering large-scale Oracle ERP and database systems.
  • Proven experience supporting Oracle EBS R12, Oracle Database (19c+), and WebLogic/Tomcat environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage backup, recovery, patching, and high availability solutions (RAC, DataGuard, RMAN).

Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of Oracle EBS system administration and database internals.
  • Skilled in Unix/Linux system environments, shell scripting, and database performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with database migration tools (Data Pump, Transportable Tablespaces) and disaster recovery strategies.

Key Attributes
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities.
  • Proactive and collaborative team player with a focus on continuous improvement.

Extra Points

Experience

  • Prior experience supporting Oracle databases in OCI or Exadata environments.
  • Exposure to additional platforms such as SQL Server or Postgres.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments with audit and compliance responsibilities.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Familiarity with Oracle Advanced Security, OD@A, and financial reporting tools.
  • Exposure to cloud-native architecture and DevOps integration for database systems.

Key Attributes
  • Eagerness to mentor and uplift junior team members.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage shifting demands in a 24/7 support environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence.
