Damage Prevention Technician (Security)

Locate and mark Conway Corporation utility distribution lines for construction contractors, other public utilities, and the general public to ensure line protection and raise awareness of potential hazards.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the primary point of contact for location service requests and assess the site and scope of excavation activities to be performed.
Respond to work order tickets and travel to the specified location.
Use maps and locator equipment to identify the exact location of Conway Corporation utility lines and mark all located lines with paint or other appropriate indicators as required.
Consult with customers or contractors to explain potential hazards and provide guidance on possible alternatives. If relocation is required, coordinate activities with the other party.
For long-distance projects, maintain regular communication with the contractor to keep locates up to date and prevent construction delays.
Record all required information on locate tickets and retain copies for the Corporation's records.
Perform damage investigations and accurately document all findings.
