Manager, Clinical Operations (Downey, CA) (Finance)

The Manager, Clinical Operations is a mission-driven, strategic, and operational leader responsible for delivering enterprise-wide clinical outcomes, financial optimization, and care model innovation. This role is accountable for maximizing the performance of the Medical Assistant team and scaling the Jump Start Assessment (JSA) program and aligning all aspects of clinical performance with the organization's value-based care goals, including HEDIS, access to care, and quality leadership.
The Manager works cross-functionally with senior leadership, scheduling operations, and JSA APC clinical teams to design and execute against measurable performance objectives. This role requires a data-savvy, member-focused team leader who can navigate the complexity of multi-market care delivery while driving toward meaningful outcomes for both members and the business.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Open, update and maintain JSA Advance Practice Clinician (APC) schedules daily.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, monitoring care center policies and procedures.
  • Ensures orders from APCs for clinical and member supplies are processed by the Medical Assistant (MA) team as per the standard protocol.
  • Ability to take initiative to resolve issues / problems with local market leadership
  • Analyzes daily office operations and utilization of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and policies related to patient care, medical procedures, and facility operations.
  • Oversee MAs daily duties and responsibilities to ensure they are meeting goals and expectations.
  • Maintain appropriate medical and office supplies at an acceptable level and managing inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available for patient care.
  • Maintain all medical equipment in proper working order.
  • Maintain all appropriate infection control protocols.
  • Manage facility issues daily including security alarms, facility cleanliness, damaged items, etc.
  • Evaluate staff performance and implement quality control measures to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintains appropriate assignments for MAs supporting JSA APCs to ensure workloads are equally distributed.
  • Strong communication skills. Able to effectively deliver information to all levels of leadership and front-line staff in an appropriate manner.
  • Manage customer expectations and develop trainings and plans to consistently exceed organizational targets for member experience
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Member Outreach, JSA APC team, Product team and DTS, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication

  • Recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Assigning workload; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees

Job Requirements:

Experience:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in a physician office, including working knowledge of managed care.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience required.

Preferred:
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid patients preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with managed care or insurance plans

Education/Licensure:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree or four years' additional experience in lieu of education.
  • Current Driver's license

  • Report Analysis Skills: Comprehend and analyze statistical reports.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Experience including Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.

Pay Range: $70,823.00 - $106,234.00
