Product Manager - EcoStruxure Automation Expert (Finance)



Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate, self-driven individual to assume to role of Product Manager for the EcoStruxure Automation Expert software offering. This role is responsible for leading a functional area of the product development and acting as the "CEO" of that functional area. As the leader for that area of the product you will be responsible for not only for driving technical product development but also supporting the commercial organization to generate revenue to EcoStruxure Automation Expert. This is a very challenging role where you will need to wear multiple hats.
  • Customer
    • First priority is to understand our customers. This is where experience in industrial automation systems is key. You will need to put yourself in our customers shoes and have a full understanding of the pain points and requirements that we can address to maximize value for our automation offering.
  • Commercial
    • You will also need to support the global commercial organization in your functional area of the product. Creating technical marketing and sales enablement material to ensure our sellers have all the information they need to push Automation Expert into the market. You will also work with the commercial organization to understand their challenges and ensure those challenges are being addressed in our product backlog.
  • Technical
    • You will also have to drive feature and user story grooming down to the Agile development teams. You are responsible for translating the customer pain points and requirements into clear and concise acceptance criteria for R&D to ensure that product development is aligned with customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating, defining and adapting feature work items in Azure DevOPs. Ensuring that acceptance criteria reflects core needs and requirements of target customers. Working with Solution Management on alignment between Epic and Feature work items. Working with Architecture team on technical implementation strategy. Validating acceptance criteria and technical implementation strategy with target customers.
  • Responsible for working directly with customers to generate exploratory feedback and validating customer satisfaction with delivered functionality. This feedback is then driven as Voice Of Customer Azure DevOPs work items into feature grooming.
  • Responsible for managing Voice Of Customer work items and ensuring they are addressed with product development in the backlog.
  • Responsible for understanding the market trends and capability of competitor offerings.
  • Responsible for providing technical marketing support to the commercial organization with materials to understand customer value being generated from technical feature implementation.
  • Responsible for defining strategy for functional area of the product and leveraging customer feedback and market research to ensure innovation versus competitors and maximizing customer value.
  • Work with the stakeholders to understand / co-create the product vision. Communicate this to the Agile teams so they can be on the same page in order to work together effectively.
  • Co-create user stories along with agile team members that define the team's objectives. The product order maintains a proper workflow in executing the stories and determining the story sequences. Provides clarifications or direction to improve the brief descriptions of what customers expect from a product, its features, how it functions and what it can accomplish.
  • Helps facilitate the steps of product development - including planning, design, quality assurance (Issues/Bugs) and task reviews. Communicate to the stakeholders on progress and impediments.
  • As part of an Agile organization, participate in Agile events - PI planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and product backlog refinement.

Who you will report to:

  • You will report to the Head of Automation Expert Product Management. This role is a hybrid position. You are required to report to either the Foxboro, MA, Carros, France or Bangalore, India office and up to 25% travel a year.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field, MBA preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, technical product management, or a related role.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, product management expertise, and a passion for empowering developers and agile teams to create innovative industrial automation solutions.
  • The position requires strong communication, influencing and analytic skills, technical and business acumen, relationship development skills and motivational capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of the Industrial Automation market, specifically in discrete, hybrid and continuous plant applications.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile development concepts with a proven track record of quality feature development.
  • Ability to define and execute product strategies, roadmaps and business models.
  • Experience with working with global teams both internally withing Schneider Electric and externally with partners/external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to communicate with the global commercial organization and the technical R&D organization.
  • Experience in the delivery of automation systems is preferred.
  • Experience in Water, Mining/Minerals, Energy and Chemicals, Consumer Process Goods, Cloud/Service Providers and Logistics segments is preferred.
