What You'll Do (Role Purpose)

  • Creates and establishes the Vision, Culture, Operating Systems, Processes and Organization of a greenfield site in Warren, OH.
  • Oversees the start up of new, state of art production lines and ensures timelines, start up curves and capability needs are met.
  • Leads, directs, and controls the day-to-day activities of the Warren manufacturing facility to achieve the short and medium-term financial and operating objectives set by the overall organization business plan.
  • Drives improvement through execution of Global Supply Chain tools and methods.  Leads the transformation of the workforce to a highly enabled and engaged one.
  • It is the responsibility of the Plant Manager to ensure production meets output and at desired quality for the lowest possible cost working within the standards of corporate, state, and federal policy.
  • The Plant Manager will direct, coach and mentor staff to devise methods to use the plant's human capital and capital resources to best meet production goals.
  • Budgetary responsibility includes oversight of the facility's processes and activities to achieve KPI's across multiple categories including safety, quality, labor, waste, costs, efficiencies, etc.

The incumbent reports to the Senior Director of Manufacturing – Personal Care.

Greenfield Site Start Up

  • Develop strategic vision for plant's growth, culture, ways of working. Align start up activities with long-term business goals.  
  • Planning and Execution: Ability to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. Ensure that all aspects of the plant start-up are executed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth progress. Manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Team Building: Recruit, train, and develop a skilled workforce. Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and community members.
  • Design, implement, and sustain a High-Performance Work System culture at the plant.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Vision and Strategy: Develop and articulate the vision and strategies needed to deliver business results. Anticipate trends in market, raw material prices, and community factors that may influence operations. Provide direction on capital projects. Optimize operations for maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor departmental performance against goals and take corrective action if necessary. Ensure compliance with quality requirements and government regulations.

Operations Leadership and Management

  • Safety Leadership: Drive behavioral-based safety programs and ensure adherence to safety standards. Provide resources and training to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Production Management: Provide overall leadership and direction in production, warehousing, and shipping operations. Ensure achievement of production objectives and optimize operations for efficiency and profitability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Implement Lean leadership and thinking to create an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Supply Chain Management: Anticipate and integrate supply chain trends connected with business strategies. Problem solve inter-mill flow issues to optimize internal supply chain.

  • Employee Engagement: Drive positive employee relations through engagement and enablement activities. Motivate team members to adhere to safety and environmental rules and foster a culture of doing the right thing.
  • Community Relations: Maintain effective community and government relations to build and maintain the company's image. Establish community relations to ensure the company is perceived as a good corporate citizen and preferred employer.

Experiences We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or applicable, equivalent plant manager experience
  • Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in a fast paced environment with manufacturing operations or business function
  • 7-10 years of Supply Chain/Manufacturing experience leading large-scale change
  • Ability to energize the organization, define priorities, align stakeholders to achieve Segment Business deliverables and create a climate that inspires employees to do their best
  • Ability to understand the Segment Business deliverables and assimilate the Critical Business Need, apply internal & external levers to formulate the plant operating strategy; enable the organization and achieve desired business results the KC way.
  • Ability to synthesize the processes and systems that create & sustain a high performing value stream that consistently, safely and predictably delivers quality product to our consumers balancing service, cost and cash.
  • Demonstrates safety is a value, actively coaches and participates in safety management on an ongoing basis and is knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices.
  • Understands the application of quality systems for measuring, monitoring, controlling and improving materials, products and processes.
  • Ability to organize and plan; delegate responsibility and authority; lead and motivate people; and maintain effective control of the operation.
  • Broad knowledge and extensive experience in business management, including the successful management of a product system or functional department
  • Judgment and ability to interact effectively with governmental agencies to maintain positive community relations
  • Proven Lean and Operational Excellent manufacturing knowledge and experience and the ability to deploy this knowledge and experience to accelerate KCNA's transformational efforts.
  • Experience working with a high-performance work system for operations is preferred.
  • Bachelor Degree is strongly preferred

Salary Range: 215,900 – 279,100 USD

At Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.
