Journeyman Electrician (Construction)
Serve existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
A Journeyman Electrician is responsible for executing professional quality installations with all current electrical codes. This position adheres to all safety protocols and works closely with project management onsite.
Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
Up-dates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
The Electrician will follow and perform other instructions and other related duties as set forth by management.
Must be capable of reading and understanding overview drawings, one-line drawings, and electrical schematics.
Ability to layout conduit, cable tray, and overall jobsite installations.
Work with and train apprentices on the job.
Skills/Qualifications:
Must be a licensed electrician.
Experience in electrical and pneumatic process controls
7-10+ years of experience in the electrical trade and completion of a successful apprenticeship.
The ability to read blueprints, legend symbols, scale of plan, branch circuits, one-line, and riser diagrams.
Proficient with hydraulic benders.
Ability to trim out device.
Ability to work independently or/and with a team.
You must be dependable, work hard and willing to put in the hours needed.
Have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen.
Basic computer knowledge is required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Potential Hazards:
Outside most of the time.
Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
Limited working surfaces.
Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
If driving is required, a valid driver's license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
Essential Requirements:
Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day, Standing
Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
Use of respirator if position requires.
Driving if required to travel.
