ENGR 211 Course Assistant (Education)



Job Description

This position is for Stevens students currently enrolled. Must have a fulltime status. Bachelors Degree required. This is a part-time hourly position.

Job Title: Grader – ENGR 211

Position Type: Hourly, Part-Time

Position Overview

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a responsible and detail-oriented student to serve as a Grader for ENGR 211. The grader will assist the course instructor by grading homework assignments, quizzes, and exams in a timely and consistent manner. This position is essential in supporting the instructional process and ensuring accurate assessment of student work.

Responsibilities

  • Grade homework, quizzes, projects, and/or exams in alignment with the instructor's grading guidelines and rubrics.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and assignments.
  • Accurately record grades and return graded materials to the instructor in a timely manner.
  • Attend occasional meetings with the course instructor to clarify grading expectations.
  • Provide feedback to the instructor regarding common student errors or areas needing additional clarification.
  • Communicate with the instructor regarding workload, deadlines, or grading challenges.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current Stevens student in good academic standing.
  • Completion of ENGR 211 (or equivalent) with a grade of A or strong academic performance in related coursework.
  • Strong attention to detail, fairness, and consistency in evaluating work.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet grading deadlines.
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in handling student work and grades.
