Laundry Attendant (Finance)



Job Description Summary

Under the general guidance of the Director of Housekeeping or designate, ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Laundry areas in accordance to the hotel standards.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Royal Sonesta Brand standards.

• Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order.

• Fold and store clean linens, report damages to supervisor.

• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.

• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of the laundry and housekeeping.

• May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects.

• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ensure all linen is separated, counted and placed in correct location

• Assist with linen stock on monthly basis

• Sort and fold towels, sheets, and any other hotel linen

• Maintain clean work areas, materials, reporting defective materials and equipment to the correct department

Specific Job Knowledge & Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

• One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel

• Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor

• Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

• Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments

• Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork

Physical Abilities:

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 75 pounds without assistance

• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity

• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift

• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

• Requires manual ability to use, carry, and operate all necessary equipment

Pay Range

Pay Range: $22.32 - $29.76 per hour. Pay rate outlined follows contract requirement.
