RN - Emergency Department (Finance)

80% FTE, 8/12 hour evening/night shifts between the hours of 3:00pm-3:30am, including weekend and holiday rotation. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Staged orientation process designed to provide you with support and ensure your success. This position primarily supports the adult ED but also provides the unique opportunity to work in a pediatric ED as well. You will be working at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Additional components of compensation may include:

• Shift differentials: $4/hour evening, $5/hour night and $4.25/hour weekend differential as applicable for hours worked

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:

• Be part of the only healthcare system in Wisconsin that offers Level I Trauma Care for adults and children and a Burn and Wound Center, as verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
• Join a department that consists of 40 acute care adult rooms, 11 Pediatric rooms, three multi-purpose procedure rooms, and three Behavioral Health "Safe" rooms.
• Fully equipped with three Major Trauma rooms and a Pediatric Resuscitation room to facilitate the care of the critically ill or injured adult and pediatric patient.
• New CareSTART area which is open during peak times to expedite the intake process and allow for patient care to begin sooner. An RN and physician see the patient on arrival and care can begin immediately.

Education :

Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Work Experience :

Minimum - Six (6) months of RN experience.

Preferred - One (1) year of ICU, Critical Care, or Emergency Department experience with adult and/or pediatric populations.

Licenses and Certifications :

Minimum - Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact. CPR certification. ACLS and PALS certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred - TNCC, ENPC, ACLS and PALS certifications.
