CCTV Installation Field Technician I (Finance)



TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a temporary full-time CCTV Installation Field Technician I to join our team in Irvine, California.

Job Summary: The CCTV Installation Field Technician I performs on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of customer equipment; specifically, CCTV cameras and associated equipment (monitors, recording devices, etc). This job may include any aspect of field support including installation, troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment and wiring, installation and configuration of component systems/firmware, including upgrades, modifications and programming; preventive maintenance actions; documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Installation: Installing IP based CCTV cameras, associated equipment (monitors, recording devices, etc.), and cabling.
  • Configuration: Setting up camera parameters, recording modes, and network integration.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with the surveillance systems.
  • Cabling: Running, troubleshooting, terminating, and connecting cables through outdoor conduits and pullboxes.
  • Networking: Understanding and configuring network settings for remote surveillance.
  • Site Survey: Assessing the site and identifying the best locations for camera placement.
  • Testing: Testing system functionality after installation and maintenance.
  • Safety: Working near high-speed traffic and at heights.

Requirements and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred.
  • Must be local to, or within 30 miles of, Irvine, California 92618.
  • Technical proficiency in CCTV and IP camera systems.
  • Knowledge of wiring and cabling standards.
  • Understanding of network protocols and configurations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair technical issues.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and lift heavy equipment.
  • Experience with boom lift/aerial lifts.
  • Safety oriented.
  • Must maintain driver's license in good standing as verified by TransCore.

Schedule: This is a temporary position lasting approximately 5 to 6 weeks, 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday, until project is complete.

Salary Range: $28 - $32/hour, based on experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and moving traffic.
