Director, PNT Military Business Development (Education)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Viavi is looking for a Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Business Development leader in support of PNT and Inertial Navigation portfolio. As a Military PNT Business Develop Director, you will focus on promotion of our PNT products into U.S. and allied military markets. You will work with commercial and military customers on functionality, integration and technical problem resolution and coordinate with our PNT Sales, Product Line Management and Applications Engineering teams to grow our customer base. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop product and market engagement strategies for defense markets.

  • Analyze programs and markets to define customers and product requirements.

  • Identify new product opportunities and associated TAM/SAM and target pricing/costs

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the PNT market and perform competitive analysis.

  • Build and maintain close relationships with DoD/MoD organizations and key customers.

  • Develop military program roadmap.

  • Generate ideas/concepts for New Product Development and contribute to the creation of Product/Marketing Requirement Documents

  • Visit customers for pre/post-sales meetings and product demonstrations.

  • Create product and market segmentation collateral in support of Product Line Management and Sales.

  • Provide technical and product marketing training to regional sales managers, sales representatives, distributors, and customers.

  • Promote PNT products by participating in industry technical meetings and trade shows.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Required qualifications for this role include:

  • At least ten years of experience in the PNT industry including knowledge of customers, competitors and technology trends.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering or a related field. An equivalent amount of related experience may be substituted for this academic background.

  • Professional experience with GPS/GNSS positioning and inertial navigation systems.

  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills; ability to logically analyze issues, identify challenges and develop solutions.

  • Possess initiative with a positive attitude, able to work independently, and a team player.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Currently have or ability to obtain a U.S. Secret (or above) security clearance.

  • Ability to travel (~20-50% of time).
