Junior Taxable Trader (Finance)

We are seeking a Junior Taxable Trader to join our Minneapolis, MN office to support our trading desks and help deliver the full scope of Piper Sandler's services to our clients.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the fixed income markets. The analyst will work closely with traders, sales professionals, and other fixed income specialists to build expertise and contribute to the firm's client-focused mission.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support senior traders and partner with the salesforce to assist with daily trading desk activity
  • Present trade ideas and support the execution and booking of transactions
  • Ensure accurate trade confirmations for both clients and traders
  • Facilitate clear communication between trading groups and contribute to cross sector trade proposals

Qualifications include:
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial services; analytic background strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, math, financial engineering, or related field
  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and workflow management skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg
  • Strong technical skillset, particularly with Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated interest in fixed income markets and products, financial markets, and economics
  • FINRA Series 7, 63 & SIE licenses (or willingness to obtain within 120 days)

Our fixed income sales and trading team provides the full array of taxable and tax-exempt investment solutions with multi product trading desks across a 50-state distribution network. The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $65,000 - $70,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience, location and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
