Under the direction of the Area Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the shipping and logistics functions to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. The role requires close collaboration with Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, Sales, and Planning to optimize the flow of materials and products while maintaining high standards of service and efficiency. This role will also oversee shipping team, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions

Shipping & Logistics Oversight

  • Ensure timely preparation and shipment of all customer orders in alignment with production schedules.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality to prioritize shipments and resolve any material or documentation issues.
  • Review and verify all shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing slips, etc.) for accuracy and compliance.
  • Work with third-party logistics providers and shipping carriers to optimize performance and minimize cost.
  • Maintain finished goods inventory accuracy in coordination with Planning and Inventory teams.
  • Oversee transportation and internal material flow to minimize lead time and maximize efficiency.

Operational Execution & Improvement

  • Plan daily operations, monitor execution, and adjust as needed to ensure customer schedules are met.
  • Act as a change agent, championing continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Synchronous Manufacturing, ABS, IPM, etc.).
  • Implement process improvements to drive quality, reduce cost, and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with standard work, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and improvement projects, representing the shipping area.

Systems Thinking & Communication

  • Serve as a liaison across shifts and departments, helping eliminate silos and improve collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, resolving issues before escalation.
  • Understand the broader operational impact of shipping activities and contribute to site-wide goals.
  • Support training and orientation of employees in company policy, EHS, and standard work expectations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, shipping, and receiving processes.
  • Experience with logistics software
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice;
  • Working knowledge of Oracle business systems preferred.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Typing experience necessary.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Dover, NJ-no relocation provided.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, with short notice if needed.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or shipping leadership role is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED

  • Frequent standing and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Role is based in a shop floor environment with exposure to manufacturing operations.

Anticipated Pay Range: $70K-80K per year. *Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.
