Surface & UG Electrical Coordinator (Finance)

Peabody 's Shoal Creek Mine has a safety-first culture and strives to have zero recordable MSHA injuries/incidents.

Responsible for ensuring underground and surface electrical networking and infrastructure is maintained to Peabody Standards and MSHA regulations.

Duties will include:

• Manage mine and surface infrastructure equipment in a cost-effective manner.

• Achieve optimum levels of reliability in order to meet production targets within mine budget.

• Work with each department to ensure planning is optimized and there is efficient use of resources

• Timely escalation of electrical issues that impact safety or production to Maintenance Director

• Ensure effective project management of major overhaul and repair equipment including planning, implementation and budgeting.

• Ensure all major maintenance outages and projects have a clear scope of work, project schedule (Gantt chart), forecast cost, quality assurance procedures and documentation.

The Lifestyle:

This position will work Monday-Friday, may also require the necessity to work weekends, holidays, or another shift as deemed necessary.

About you:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED. Engineering degree (preferred) or minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• 5 years of underground coal mining experience in a supervisory role for production or maintenance preferred.

• High level of understanding and knowledge of MSHA regulations and electrical codes of practice.

• Reliability Engineering certificate of competency (desirable).

• Knowledge of Federal and State laws associated with the mining industry.

• Mine Foreman Certification or ability to obtain.

• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office

• Must be willing to work on any assigned shift and on scheduled weekends.

• PLC programming

• Experience in planning and execution techniques

• Experience in equipment reliability trending analysis

• Experience working in a union environment is a plus.

• Experience in Success Factors, SAP and Kronos is a plus .

Physical Requirements - Underground:

• Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces.

• Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles.

• Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom.

• Walking ability will be judged according to SCSR emergency evacuation plan required and approved by MSHA.

• Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA.

• Must have the ability to bend or stoop for a full work period as a result of mine height.

• Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.

• Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs as well as good hand to eye coordination.

• Must have the ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and the ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 75 pounds.

• Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

This is a Safety Sensitive Role. Individuals in safety sensitive roles (i.e., role where impaired performance could credibly result in fatality or permanently disabling injury), with or without an accommodation cannot have:

• an uncontrolled condition which is likely to cause loss of consciousness or ability to control a motor vehicle or other large machinery;

In addition, individuals must meet the minimum vison and hearing requirements to fulfil a safety sensitive role:

• At least 20/40 acuity (Snellen) in each eye with or without correction.

• At least 70° field of vision in horizontal meridian measured in each eye.

• The use of corrective lenses should be noted on the Medical Examiner's Certificate.

• No more than 40dB average hearing loss in better ear (with or without hearing aid).
