EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • At least six months of related experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Keep safety as a priority in the work environment.
  • Ability to successfully complete a skills assessment. (eTRAIN test)
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Own and maintain required personal tools.

Strongly Preferred:

  • At least five years heavy equipment technician experience, preferably in a dealership environment.
  • Caterpillar work experience.
  • Proficient rebuilding/repairing machinery including hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, engines, and Tier IV Emissions systems, failure analysis procedures, warranty claims procedures...

If offered employment, the specific rate of pay and position grade will be determined based on applicable differentials and the candidate's level of experience and skill.

Salary Range
$19.00 to $ 24.96 Per Hour

FULL JOB SUMMARY:

Operate forklifts and cranes to load, unload and move materials. Maintain material storage and adjacent areas. Dump scrap and trash. Maintain equipment as directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Loads, unloads, moves, removes, and installs materials, components, and supplies.
  • Follows orders and instructions received from dispatcher, Leadperson and supervisor.
  • Maintains yard, storage, and office areas with minimal direction from the dispatcher or Leadperson.
  • Dumps scrap and trash.
  • Maintains forklifts, cranes, and related equipment.
  • Adheres to all applicable safety policies.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Works safely at all times.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains and dispenses bulk and miscellaneous supply inventories.
  • Records work time.
  • Assists other dispatcher and yard workers when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works within and promote corporate values.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with people and to efficiently meet customer needs.
  • Must have the ability to start, stop and operate forklifts.
  • Must have mechanical skills sufficient for routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Must be able to lift, push, hold and position items up to 60 pounds total weight.
  • Demonstrated technical skill competence.
  • Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming adhere to company policy.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Previous experience operating forklifts and yard cranes.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
