Senior HSE Engineer (Finance)



As a Senior HSE Engineer at Honeywell Sensing Solutions, you will be a key leader in driving health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence across our manufacturing facility. You will provide expert guidance, technical support, and leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate HSE requirements while fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and accountability.

You will report to the Sr HSE Manager and work out of our manufacturing site in Boyne City, MI in person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support HSE programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and Honeywell policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE culture and performance through proactive engagement with employees and leadership.
  • Develop and implement world-class HSE management systems, integrating best practices into daily operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee PPE programs, machinery safety/LOTO, ergonomics, air permitting, hazardous and non-hazardous waste and wastewater management, and hazard communication.
  • Deliver regulatory, corporate, and site-specific HSE training.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action verification.
  • Perform internal audits and drive compliance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to evolving HSE requirements.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.Responsible for leading and supporting HSE programs to ensure compliance with regulations and Honeywell policies. Focuses on continuous improvement of HSE culture, implementing advanced management systems, conducting risk assessments, and mitigating hazards. Oversees PPE, LOTO, waste management, ergonomics, and air permitting. Delivers training, leads incident investigations, performs audits, and collaborates with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance.YOU MUST HAVE
  • Minimum of 5 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

WE VALUE
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering or related field.
  • Michigan Industrial Stormwater operator certification is a plus
  • Strong expertise in occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience implementing and managing HSE programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze risks, develop solutions, and drive a culture of safety.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and behavior-based safety strategies is a plus.
  • Ability to travel occasionally up to 5%.
