Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction (Finance)



The Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program in the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences is seeking a 12 Month visiting assistant professor of instruction beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. The successful candidate must have a doctorate degree. This position will be responsible for teaching classes and providing clinical supervision in the current program. They will also contribute to the overall program function, including advising students, enhancing the curriculum, and participating in program activities. We seek individuals who bring enthusiasm and a deep commitment to academic excellence within the scholar-practitioner tradition. We are particularly interested in candidates who can provide leadership, work with individuals from varied backgrounds, stakeholders, and colleagues, and who have experience and credentials in clinical mental health counseling and rehabilitation counseling. This position is for one year with the possibility of extension, based on funding availability.Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in a Counseling field and identifies professionally as a Rehabilitation Counselor or Mental Health Counselor.
  • Must be a certified Rehabilitation counselor, or licensed/ eligible for license as an LMHC in Florida within 1 year.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
  • Is Licensed as a LMHC in Florida
  • Graduated from a CACREP accredited PhD program.
  • Has two or more years of professional experience in supervision, leadership, teaching and/or delivering clinical services.
  • Has knowledge of local community based mental health services; and demonstrated success in teaching graduate level courses in rehabilitation or mental health counseling field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Is Licensed as a LMHC in Florida
  • Graduated from a CACREP accredited PhD program.
  • Has two or more years of professional experience in supervision, leadership, teaching and/or delivering clinical services.
  • Has knowledge of local community based mental health services; and demonstrated success in teaching graduate level courses in rehabilitation or mental health counseling field.
