Business Intelligence Data Lead (Information Technology)

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position focuses on enterprise data architecture, semantic model optimization, and business intelligence, providing valuable insights across marketing, product, technology, revenue, and operations teams. You'll take ownership of data infrastructure, model performance, new measure strategy, and future pipeline development. This is a job for a builder.
With your expertise in data engineering, pipeline design, and BI integrations, you will lead efforts to build and optimize the data systems that power our commercial analytics function. You will design and maintain reliable, scalable pipelines that deliver clean, trusted data to stakeholders across sales, procurement, merchandising, and marketing. Collaboration will be key as you partner with analysts, data scientists, and business leaders to ensure our data architecture supports strategic goals and delivers actionable insights. You are someone who goes beyond simply moving and storing data you ensure it is modeled for usability, performance, and business impact. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Commercial Analytics and work closely with the broader Analytics and Technology teams. This is a hybrid role, with at least 2 days per week in our Bronx, NY headquarters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of centralized semantic data modelsto support consistent and scalable business intelligence reporting across the organization.Serve as the primary developer of advanced DAX calculations and Power BI measures, while maintaining BI integrations and reusable datasets to ensure accurate, efficient delivery of complex business metrics and KPIs.Oversee the creation and delivery of interactive dashboards and visual reporting tools, ensuring alignment with stakeholder requirements and corporate performance objectives.Partner with business units and IT teamsto translate analytical needs into sustainable data solutions, supporting cross-functional initiatives and strategic planning efforts.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to analysts, promoting best practices in data modeling, report design, and analytics governance to elevate team capability and output.Create and maintain enterprise data models to support consistent, scalable reporting and analytics across commercial functions.Ensure consistent metrics and data definitions across teams, creating governance frameworks that balance nuance with standardization.Support experimentation and testing frameworks, ensuring data capture and integrity to measure impact on customer and business outcomes.Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues by implementing validation processes, monitoring, and automated alerts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
6+ years of experience in data engineering, BI development, or analytics engineering in collaborative environments.Advanced SQL expertise for building complex queries, transformations, and performance-tuned datasets.Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses and integration and ETL/ELT tooling (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Fivetran, Airflow, Matillion).Proficiency in BI platforms such as Power BI (including advanced DAX), Looker, or Tableau, with experience designing dataflows, semantic layers and reusable datasets.Strong understanding of data modeling principles (dimensional, star/snowflake schemas) and data governance practices.Experience integrating and managing data from multiple commercial systems (ERP, CRM, sales platforms, supply chain systems).Ability to bridge technical and business needs, translating stakeholder requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex data challenges into actionable steps, experience with data triage.Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate technical concepts to less-technical stakeholders and influence data strategy.Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (Python, R) for automation, data manipulation, or API integrations is a plus.
