Position Overview
Community Landscape Services is seeking an ambitious and relationship-driven Business Developer to drive new business growth in the DMV region. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new commercial maintenance contracts with property managers, HOAs, commercial real estate owners, and other target markets.

As Business Developer, you will represent CLSs reputation for quality service, sustainable practices, and proactive partnership while building strong client relationships that lead to long-term contracts and portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth Planning

Partner with branch leadership to develop an annual business development plan aligned with CLSs growth goals.

Identify priority industries and property types within the DMV region (HOAs, commercial properties, retail centers, municipalities, educational campuses, healthcare facilities).

Establish clear sales goals and track proposal activity against targets.

Prospecting & Networking

Build and maintain a strong professional network through trade associations, real estate groups, and industry events.

Conduct outreach campaigns (calls, emails, meetings) to generate new leads and build a robust pipeline.

Host or participate in educational and networking opportunities (lunch & learns, property manager events, trade shows) to showcase CLSs capabilities.

Sales & Contract Acquisition

Qualify opportunities and ensure alignment with CLSs services and target client profile.

Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to prepare accurate and competitive proposals.

Deliver and present proposals that clearly communicate value, sustainability practices, and service quality.

Negotiate contract terms to achieve mutually beneficial, long-term agreements.

Transition & Relationship Support

Coordinate smooth handoffs to Account Managers and operations teams after contract execution.

Assist in onboarding new clients, ensuring expectations are met from day one.

Support client satisfaction during the initial transition period and foster the foundation for long-term retention.
