Pharmacy Intern - Express Scripts - Remote (Coverage Review) (Finance)
As an Intern within Coverage Review Operations, you'll be responsible for reviewing if coverage can be granted for a medication based on guidelines established by each particular plan. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with Pharmacists, Nurses, and Medical Directors in your department and across the business-and learn from some of our brightest and most innovative colleagues and leaders.
Expectations of Intern
- Utilizes multiple systems and other clinical resources to research information
- Applies patient assessment skills to provide pharmacists and medical directors key information to aid in their reviews
- Works and maneuvers within a queue system that prioritizes clinical reviews
- Works and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary clinical team to provide a customer centric experience
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a PharmD program with a 3.0 GPA
- Active intern license in good standing
- Currently enrolled in ACPE accredited college of pharmacy
- Ideal candidate has an interest in Managed Care, Pharmacy Benefit Processes
- Retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners
- Ability to focus on results, even under tough circumstances and/or a changing environment
- Relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people across all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
- Self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills
Schedule
- Available to work 20 hours per week
- Opportunities to work up to 40 hours during breaks per business need
- This role is remote (work from home) from a U.S. location
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
