Senior VDC Manager (Finance)



Compensation Range
$110,500.00 - $165,700.00 Annual Salary

Job Description Summary:
Oversee Virtual Design Constructions [VDC] coordination, resources, deliverables, and pursuits content for assigned division(s) and/or market(s). Oversee all VDC related tasks, assignments, and personnel to support project operations of assigned locations.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Able to perform essential VDC Manager responsibilities and duties and have an overall understanding of the Lead Detailer responsibilities and duties.
  • Recruit and hire VDC personnel; support and guide new hires to ensure a successful integration.
  • Utilize business plans to allocate VDC staff and develop talent to ensure succession needs.
  • Support with training, coaching and mentoring VDC team members on leadership, business skills, and attributes; identify learning and development opportunities.
  • Partner with division/regional leadership to implement VDC business goals and strategies.
  • Manage project productivity, efficiency, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Oversee work assignments and tasks of assigned VDC staff to support projects and pursuits.
  • Coach and educate VDC staff to effectively review pursuits to develop content, produce industry leading realistic renderings, graphics, and other visuals to support pursuits and interviews.
  • Oversee and educate teams on reviewing and managing project requirements and deliverables.
  • Coach VDC staff on how to effectively support field teams to implement VDC tools and processes.
  • Manage and educate on workflow automation practices to support coordination deliverables
  • Ensure operations teams are supported with VDC specific project setup and coordination schedule development for all assigned projects across division(s).
  • Oversee and educate teams on how to conduct VDC-related constructability reviews, code compliance, and resolving design conflicts with design and trade partners.
  • Mentor project teams to resolve complex coordination clashes to support efficient coordination.
  • Oversee and ensure proper model setup to deliver as-built, facility operations, maintenance requirements, and close-out deliverables.
  • Audit projects and deliverables to ensure consistency and compliance with company VDC standards.
  • Manage and report on objectives and key results (OKR's), key metrics, and utilize key performance indications (KPIs) to drive VDC divisional/regional goals and decision making.
  • Build strong working relationships with divisional/regional leaders to maintain communication, deliver and gather feedback to drive insights, and remain aligned.
  • Manage digital organization of data storage and archiving - audit for accuracy and improvements.
  • Write and train operations on VDC coordination work orders, scopes of work, and executing contracts, including consultant agreements.
  • Manage internal/external trainings on VDC processes, application of tools, and VDC-related schedule activities.

Minimum Requirements or Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or certification in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of design, engineering, or construction experience; with at least 6-8 years in VDC or Detailing related experience.
  • Experience with managing teams, developing personnel, and driving high performance.
  • Able to motivate employees to persevere despite challenges to achieve business goals.
  • In-depth understanding of commercial construction means and methods with a high proficient ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standard BIM software application; advanced Revit experience expected.
  • Ability to explore and test new industry technologies and software.
  • Able to educate others on VDC systems, processes, and tools.
  • Capable of balancing data, intuition, experience, and judgement in decision making.
  • Effective English written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with managing and providing support to multiple project sites.
  • Displays critical thinking ability with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Relationship driven, fosters collaboration, and able to partner with project and trade partners to execute project successfully.
  • Capable of adapting to change quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to travel to support company VDC needs.
