This individual will manage product assortment, loyalty and pricing strategies, vendor partnerships, promotional planning, store-level merchandising, inventory and rebate program management while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Develop and maintain strategic category plans for Tobacco, Ice, Propane, Lottery, and ATMincluding sales and gross profit goals, key initiatives, and action plans. Provide post analysis and updated action plans to achieve budgeted goals. Manage assortment, cost negotiations, retails, promotional strategies, and in-store merchandising across assigned categories. Develop annual category financial budgets supported by industry trends, chainwide performance trends and category initiatives. Lead vendor negotiations and contracts, ensuring performance, service-level expectations, and alignment with company goals. Coordinate and manage rebate programs across all assigned categories, validating accuracy of accruals and reconciliation. Create and maintain category-specific planograms and schematics, maximizing inventory turns, space efficiency, and profitability. Oversee execution of promotional plans, in-store signage, and planogram resets in coordination with field support teams. Serve as primary category lead for all tobacco product management, including assortment optimization, pricing, compliance, and store-specific demographic planning. Analyze consumer trends, competitive insights, and performance data to identify opportunities and develop responsive strategies. Monitor category performance against budget, proactively identifying and addressing any sales or gross profit shortfalls. Establish competitive pricing strategies tailored to local markets and individual store performance. Provide regular SKU-level analysis including inventory turns, funding sources, and rebate/buy-down impact. Collaborate with internal departments (Marketing, Operations, Accounting, IT) to support category initiatives, pricing updates, compliance, and reporting. Partner with the Marketing team to coordinate promotional campaigns, digital advertising, and POP initiatives for lottery jackpots and tobacco promotions. Ensure all product and pricing information is accurately maintained in merchandising systems and communicated to field teams. Support store openings, category resets, and special projects, ensuring full execution of all assigned categories. Participate in other duties and special projects as assigned.
