Graduate Assistant for Fraternity/Sorority Life (Personal Services)

Responsibilities:
Assist the Associate Dean in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive fraternity/sorority life program which delivers quality and diverse programming opportunities.
Support the Student Engagement strategic goals through programming and advising.
In conjunction with the Associate Dean, serve as a primary resource to all fraternities and sororities.
Advise the governing councils for fraternity/sorority life (IFC and PHC).
Coordinate and provide support for all recruitment and intake programs.
Oversee the processes for chapter accreditation, community grade reports, hazing prevention, alcohol & risk management training for the fraternity/sorority life community.
Assist with the planning and coordination of the annual Student Involvement Fair.
Assist in budget tracking for fraternity/sorority life.
Create marketing material and promote fraternity/sorority life events to encourage maximum attendance by all students.
Help in leading, motivating, supervising, and evaluating the student staff.
Assess program needs and develop new programming initiatives.
Advise and support fraternity/sorority leadership development.
Act as a student advocate, providing guidance and appropriate referrals to students seeking assistance.
Actively participate in appropriate Carroll University committees, task forces, and professional associations and conferences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Maintain full-time enrollment in an eligible Carroll University graduate program
Additional approval is required for entrance in graduate programs outside of Education and Business
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree required
Preference will be given to candidates with at least two years of experience (including undergraduate experience) in Fraternity/Sorority Life, program planning and/or event management.
Strong preference for candidates affiliated with a fraternity or sorority
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work some nights and weekends
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
High energy level, self-motivated and self-directed to design and implement programming and events.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Compliance:
