Director of Engineering Support (Finance)



Purpose

The Director of Engineering Support plays a critical role in bridging technical subject matter expertise with enterprise-level digital transformation. This position ensures Inframark's water and wastewater operations are not only reliable and compliant but also optimized, future-ready, and recognized as industry-leading by clients and peers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of Inframark's digital operations roadmap by integrating data-driven decision-making, predictive analytics, and automation across water and wastewater facilities.
  • Serve as the senior technical expert in wastewater treatment process optimization, regulatory compliance strategies, and capital planning implications.
  • Translate operational needs into scalable, technology-enabled solutions that improve performance, reduce risk, and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the development and continuous refinement of Process Control Management Plans (PCMPs), leveraging advanced statistical modeling and AI-assisted decision frameworks.
  • Lead root cause analysis and performance improvement programs to ensure proactive problem-solving and rapid recovery from process upsets.
  • Champion best-in-class operations through the creation and enforcement of enterprise standards, SOPs, and operator training programs.
  • Expand the deployment of real-time dashboards, remote monitoring, and automated alerts to empower operators and leadership with actionable insights.
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with technology vendors, integrators, and engineering teams to pilot and scale emerging digital tools that support operational outcomes.
  • Represent Inframark with clients, regulators, and industry organizations as a recognized leader in both process expertise and digital innovation.
  • Build strong partnerships with Operations, Engineering, IT, and Business Development to align initiatives with corporate growth objectives.
  • Provide thought leadership through industry presentations, publications, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater operations, engineering, or digital transformation
  • Proven leadership in process optimization and regulatory compliance
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, automation technologies, and digital tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Physical Demands:

Must be able to frequently lift 50-60 pounds, load/unload and move large equipment and tools, access confined spaces, and continuously walk, climb stairs, and use ladders.

Travel Requirements:

Frequent travel required (80%).
