Maintenance Lead (Finance)



Drive reliability, safety, and performance in a key supervisory role. As a Maintenance Lead 2 at MacLean-Fogg's Sterling, IL facility, you'll oversee all maintenance activities, lead a skilled team, and ensure equipment runs at peak efficiency to support production goals. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can balance technical expertise with team development and continuous improvement.
Job Details
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
  • Pay Range: $30.26 - $32.99 per hour (based on skills and experience)
  • Work Location: Onsite - Sterling, Illinois
  • Travel: Up to 15%
  • Shift: 1st (6 AM - 2:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Maintenance Operations: Assign tasks, ensure equipment is maintained and repaired, and support production schedules
  • Monitor and Prioritize Work: Assign technicians to repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance; manage work orders to minimize downtime
  • Lead TPM and Continuous Improvement: Oversee TPM scheduling, execution, and tracking; identify opportunities to boost uptime and reduce costs
  • Coordinate Contractors: Serve as the main contact for outside service providers
  • Real-Time Troubleshooting: Partner with production to address mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Mentor and Develop Team: Coach maintenance team members to strengthen skills and performance
  • Documentation and Inventory: Keep accurate maintenance records and manage spare parts inventory
  • Hands-On Work: Perform or assist with preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance; adjust and calibrate machinery; interpret blueprints and technical manuals
  • Lean Support: Apply Lean principles to improve maintenance processes and outcomes
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure maintenance areas meet safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards
  • Other Duties: Support department and company goals with additional tasks as needed

Qualifications (Required)
  • Experience: 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred)
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Required to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending and stooping required.
  • Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.
