Heat Treat Technician (Finance)



Role Summary
  • Responsible for maintaining world class quality through following practices described in work instructions, procedures, and policies.
  • Foster a culture of disciplined continuous improvement (lean)
  • Has a working knowledge of the Thermal Alliance furnaces and the Wheelabrators.
Key Responsibilities
  • Keep work area clean and in an orderly condition and organized in a way that fosters efficient flow through department
  • Maintain production by following the proper schedule and being self-motivated.
  • Can maintain and operate furnace equipment.
  • Able to visually inspect materials and identify defects and mixed stock
  • Transfer material from production bins to heat treat bins
  • Ensure all bins are empty before transferring material
  • Load and unload furnaces in a safe and efficient manner
  • Understand safety requirements when working around extreme temperatures
  • Can maintain and operate wheelabrator blasting equipment
  • Understand and adhere to standard and established machine capacity and timing requirements
  • Maintain and regulate shot levels and inventory kanban
  • Stock the equipment by driving a forklift.
  • Learn proper paperwork methods in compliance with the work instructions.
  • Lubricate equipment.
  • Learn all standard operating procedures.
  • Understand and analyze furnace charts and quality documentation
  • Understand hardness requirements and operate testing equipment to ensure proper quality of material
  • Perform and verify work affecting quality.
  • Assist maintenance department and/or make necessary machine repairs.
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned or required for this position.
