Environments Designer (Creative Design)



JOB SUMMARY: The environment CARTI provides for patients and team members is a vital part of our mission to make trusted cancer care accessible for every patient we serve through compassion, innovation, and purpose. This position works in lockstep with the Director of Facilities and Construction to create environments for healing and functionality. The Environments Designer is responsible for developing plans and working with vendors on designs for the interior and exterior of CARTI facilities based on the needs of the patients and team members.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and maintains an expert level of organization.
Creates functional and aesthetic designs that help boost productivity, enhance the experience, and remain on brand.
Plans the use and layout of a space and works with the VP of Business Development to make decorative decisions, choose furnishings, fixtures, and more.
Develops presentations and cost estimates and coordinates the design work of contractors and architects.
Oversees and facilitates the installation of components for a project to ensure contractors are fulfilling all obligations and that work is carried out according to approved specifications.
Professionally and effectively communicates.
Serves as a liaison with project management, reporting on progress and delays.
Works to establish strategies for implementing design to meet CARTI's needs.
Works closely with outside architects, construction companies, and more, alongside CARTI Construction.
Proactively identifies and works to resolve any design-related site issues that may impede the project delivery while working consistently with CARTI Facilities.
Maintains extensive working knowledge of space workflow and key stakeholders for each project.
Presents as the subject matter expert in design and aesthetics.
Maintains a knowledge of the CARTI look and brand.
Maintains relationships and works closely with the facilities team, construction team, and supply chain/contracting.
Works within the assigned budget for each project.
Works with the exterior and permanent interior signage vendor on design, approval, and installation.
Works with the Vice President of Supply Chain and Contracting on furniture orders while maintaining the desired aesthetic.
Works with the Senior Director of Quality, Risk, and Safety on ergonomics requests made by team members to maintain the desired aesthetic.
Works with the Vice President of Business Development on art selections for patient-facing spaces.
Works with the Director of Facilities and Construction to work through each renovation and construction project at CARTI.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:

An associate degree is required, and a bachelor's degree is preferred in applicable areas of study (design, planning, branding).
Four years' experience required, 5 years or more of related experience preferred.
Experience and knowledge of Revit, Autodesk Maya, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, or other design programs offer additional benefits for this position and are preferred.
Intermediate experience with the Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
