Responsible for design and release of product improvements for cost, quality, innovation, etc.
Assist manufacturing with hands-on shop support to research issues and identify failure modes.
Resolve design issues identified by manufacturing, test, customer and warranty feedback.
Utilize CAD software to design components and systems to implement solutions.
Prepare drawings, layouts, and specification documents as required.
Assist Senior Engineers with design reviews, FMEA analysis, cost reduction and optimization.
Assist other departments in preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects.
Coordinate activities with other groups within the Product Engineering department.
Communicate with management, team members, and production staff across a variety of media.
Ability to perform job functions in a safe manner and complete all safety training required.
Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required for the job being performed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
Experience in CAD operation is required; preferably utilizing PDMLink/Creo.
Knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering principles.
Exposure to hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electric systems preferred.
Hands-on mechanical aptitude necessary to troubleshoot complex systems preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills utilizing data to support problem resolution.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with construction, agricultural or heavy equipment preferred.
This position will be located in a normal office environment with exposure to the manufacturing shop floor and product test environments (heat, cold, wet, dry, etc.) as required.
Travel requirements are limited; up to 5% of the time, based on business conditions.
