Hall's Culligan of Wixom is looking for a General Manager.  As the premium provider of drinking water and water treatment services for the greater part of a century, Hall's Culligan continues to innovate and expand our business nationwide by offering tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of each customer backed by our superior Culligan service.  

As a Hall's Culligan General Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the dealership, steering the entire operation towards success by fueling growth, maximizing profitability, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on management, inspiring high-performing teams across sales, service, and operations to exceed goals, build lasting customer relationships, and elevate the dealership's reputation in the community. What you'll do:

Drive team success:

  • Acts as a culture champion, modeling leadership behaviors that align with company values and drive positive team dynamics. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all business functions to provide leadership support where applicable. 
  • Efficiently runs meetings by preparing and sharing clear agendas in advance, keeping discussions focused, and managing time effectively. 
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations to foster employee success and engagement. 
  • Educates team members on the Hall's Scorecard metrics, and aligns dealership priorities. 

Ensure customer retention:

  • Leads the ongoing improvement of all customer service functions by tracking key metrics, identifying trends, and implementing solutions that enhance service quality. 
  • Oversees customer quit/reduction analysis, using data insights to proactively address concerns and reduce attrition. 
  • Monitors and leverages Voice of the Customer (VOC) feedback to guide strategic decisions, elevate satisfaction, and strengthen customer loyalty. 

Provide end-to-end business support:

  • Oversees all aspects of product, service, and equipment availability to support seamless operations across all departments. 
  • Maintains optimal inventory levels to ensure timely fulfillment of customer needs and uninterrupted route performance. 
  • Monitors product movement, equipment usage, and service trends to proactively address gaps, improve profitability, and support sales growth. 
  • Oversees all route employee work practices and evaluations, route completion, and weekly route paperwork review, through the necessary channels. 

Act as a brand growth champion:

  • Collaborates with the Area Manager and corporate marketing to execute regional campaigns, promotions, and community engagement strategies. 
  • Tracks marketing ROI and sales pipeline progress to identify high-impact strategies and course-correct when needed. 
  • Oversees lead activities and sales activities for all applicable sales reps, ensuring sales goals set out by the Area Manager are met and exceeded. 

Ensure financial oversight:

  • Drives dealership financial performance with full P&L oversight, ensuring profitability and alignment with forecasts. 
  • Works with leadership to manage budgeting and financial planning, ensuring goals are met while adjusting strategy as necessary. 
  • Analyzes financial reports to guide operational decisions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve overall efficiency. 
  • Oversees payment collections, equipment repossession, and ensures staff are trained on financial processes. 
  • Maintains compliance with EPA regulations, municipal codes, and discharge permit requirements. 

Asset management:

  • Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of all dealership vehicles, including regular oil changes, scheduled maintenance, and monitoring repair needs while staying within budget. 
  • Ensures that vehicles are clean and in proper working condition, coordinating repairs as necessary to maintain operational efficiency. 
  • Manages all aspects of company property at the dealership level, including building and property maintenance, as well as securing products and equipment stored on-site. 
  • Coordinates equipment upkeep and ensures all assets are functioning optimally, reducing downtime and preventing costly repairs through proactive management. 

Safety:

  • Ensures dealership operations comply with all safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. 
  • Leads safety training and enforces protocols to maintain a safe environment for employees and customers.
  • Oversees incident reporting and investigations, ensuring proper documentation and resolution. 
  • Responds to emergencies, providing direction to minimize disruption and ensure safety. 
  • Maintains compliance with legal requirements and safety standards, working with legal and insurance teams as needed. 
  • Ensures confidentiality of sensitive customer and employee information. 

Where you'll work:

Our General Managers spend most of their time working in the dealership, more specifically in an office environment requiring regular use of computers and multi-line phones – this means you must be able to sit for extended periods of time. While our offices primarily work Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, this role may require some evenings and weekends as business needs require.

Your qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions or limitations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass/maintain an acceptable driving record. 
  • 2-5 years of prior multi-department management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing overall budgets and P&L statements is required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using a CRM platform. 
  • Must remain physically capable, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the duties required of this position.
  • Must be able to successfully pass criminal background and drug screening checks per company requirements.
